FAQs

I haven’t done yoga before - will this matter?

This retreat is open to all from regular yogis to beginners. My classes are accessible to all ages and life experience, so please don’t feel intimidated.

What type of yoga will it be?

The three hatha classes will have a set of physical poses, both static long held poses and slow-flow, pranayama (breath-work), mudras and all finish with a lovely guided relaxation.

The yin-classes are great for opening up the body, particularly around the hips, lower spine, groin and pelvis. A pose is held for 3-5 minutes, it’s a slower passive practice and works deeply on the connective tissues (ligaments, bones, fascia).

For the guided relaxation you will be lying down with a blanket, eye pillow and maybe a bolster under the knees. Once you are comfortable, I will be talking to help guide the class into a deep relaxation… “give in and let go”.

Do I have to do every class?

All classes are optional. The program has been designed to give you a good mix of the different styles of yoga, active and passive. It is hoped by the end of the weekend you will be feeling the wonderful benefits of yoga.

Do I need to bring linen?

No, each suite is fitted with luxury bed linen and towels and a bathrobe.

Do I need to bring yoga equipment?

Please don’t go and buy any equipment. Yoga mats, blankets and bolsters will be provided, however if you have your own equipment, it’s best to bring that.
